I spent all day remodeling the coop, sooo exausted, hope the chickens like their new set-up. Thanks to everyone that welcomed me, it was a beautiful day in florida today.

I recently re-did my coop, as well. I'm very very happy with the set up. I shoveled out the old dirt, mulch & hay (which had mostly turned to dirt from all the manure) & then replaced it with new sand & then equine pine from Tractor Supply. I go in there with gardening gloves & an empty, used plant container every morning & pick up all the poopies. They all go in the compost. I then got pine bark mulch for around the coop.

In other news... I yelled at my husband the other night for not putting the dripping pan back under the grill. I found it on the ground & some oil spilled out. I cleaned it & returned it & then found it thrown aside AGAIN the next night. what? So just in case... I have a raccoon trap out there. My neighbor who had raccoons nest in her roof once lent me one. She now has a metal roof & has trapped & released MANY MANY raccoons. Apparently some old crazy lady across the street used to come out & feed raccoons cat food EVERY NIGHT. They would come to her as she scattered the food for them. Seriously...? Glad that lady is gone!

We had some Hawks flying above (2) and later some voltures...3 of them!! (they creep me out! lol) Good thing we have that big tree on the backyard and the DW got me a hommock...so I was out on my new "toy" watching the girls. 2 of them decided to jump on with me too! lol
