Have you looked on Craig's list for your area? Otherwise depends on what breeds you are hunting for. Do you want POL young pullets or chicks?

Too funny had to share......

Our feed delivery just arrived, and every duck came in our of the pasture as fast as they could talking away at the guys. Must have thought they were gonna get treats from them. Silly ducks think all 2 legged visitors bring food for them.

It may be too far away in both time & distance for you, but for anyone else interested, there are lots of chickens offered for sale at the South Florida Fair in West Palm Beach in January. I myself will be offering 30 different point-of-lay pullets for sale, a variety of heavy production breeds.

I just brought some baby chicks, not very picky on what type on hens as long as they are good egg producing breeds. RIRs or Barred Rocks I guess. Would prefer some that are about to lay or are laying, craigs list is a good idea, I will check thanks

Anybody in the Tampa/Brooksville area feeding organic or a less processed or even soy free feed? If so, where do you get it? Or do you make your own feed? How are the costs running these days? Have you found some thing that's best for the dual purpose breeds?

I'm full of questions - hope y'all don't mind!

speckled sussex are a definite favorite of mine. so gorgeous. we love the one at the green marketplace in cocoa. her name is C.C. (short for crazy chicken.) I can't believe I remembered that... but she definitely found a place in my heart.
