FLORIDA!!!!!ALWAYS SUNNY SIDE UP!!!

Help. We have (had) 3 maran chicks 7-10 weeks old that were very healthy and happy at 5:45 when we brought them inside from tonights cold. Now 2 are dead. The first one fell off perch, twitched and died. The 2nd convulsed a couple of times and was gone. What caused this and can we save the other little girl?

OH NO!!! Sounds like that either got too chilled already OR they got into something toxic

Carol, scramble an egg, and offer it mashed up. Keep her quiet and warm. Get some unflavored Pedialite into her. You can also get Poly-Vi-Sol withOUT iron for her water. Cook plain pasta and oatmeal are both good too.

It does sound like a toxic plant possibly. Have they been in the coop with the big girls? Are all the big girls acting fine? Any eye or nasal discharge, droopy wings, head hanging low?

They seemed fine at bed time. Little Cuddles lonely but seems fine asleep on a perch. Cuddles is the one that I thought was a roo. I moved her, took the food away and is sleeping on perch. They were in yard this pm and were fine until collapse. I heard the fall and by time I got 10 ft to her, she was gone. 2nd girl went faster.

Carol, I have plenty of chick feed to spare in unopened bags. Please call me if you think there is anything I can do to help you. I have chick saver powder for water as well as other meds too if needed. I try and keep a full arsenal on hand.
