I'm so sorry about your silkie! I have four birds that I'm looking to part ways with. I'm pretty sure three are roos, two 6 wk speckled sussex and a gorgeous13 wk laced silkie/production red cross. I have a 13 wk barred mutt that I'm not sure of but probably a roo also! I'm not a multi generational owner, I just got my birds last spring. The barred chick is from my birds, the others are not. Patricia (Anderson8505) and I were talking about going to the swap in Lakeland tomorrow. She has little buckeye chicks and some others.

Hi crossgirl. One can have too many roosters, and right now I have 11! My girls have no feathers on their backs. I am trying to find homes for a couple Delawares, a buff Orpington, a barred rock, a blue standard cochin and bantam frizzle cochin if you know of anyone who needs roosters. They are great guys, all calm around people, and get along well. I have all of them in one pen now and there hasn't been one serious fight.

Chiknadventure so sorry to read about your silkie. It is always hard to loose one of the feather babies.

Who all is going to what swaps tomorrow? I know there's one here in Lakeland at Lonesome Dove, and there's one up at TSC in Dunellon. I'm debating on which one to go to. There are going to be some beautiful Silkies at the one in Dunellon, but it's more of a drive. Decisions, decisions.

I put a cap full in his food with some water so it isn't overpowering. I also started putting some in their water because now we have a puppy and my poodle likes to eat her food. LOL.......... So far the puppy doesn't have any fleas either ....
