Wow! Are the letters are in the right place! Can't wait to see the pictures of the new coop. I've only had GLW's. I like the girls, but not the rooster, but he has had too many other roosters around, so that may have affected his personality. Also, I did not get him as a chick. He was a rescue from a bad situation. He is not aggressive with people, but very rough with the girls. The hens are not my best layers, but I probably get 3 or 4 eggs a week from each of them.just popping in-I am at work right now, so I can actually post from a computer(see, I really can spell and write complete sentences lol)
Anyway, I am SO stinking excited about my coop being almost finished. I know I am a total nerd getting on here just to say it's almost done, but you seasoned veterans know us rookies are starry eyed![]()
Anyway, quick question to those of you with BLRW's. If you have or had them, did you like them? Were they good layers? What about the rooster? Was he high maintenance? was he aggressive? I saw one yesterday, they seem HUGE but are they pretty standard?
Also, I am hearing conflicting things on turkeys. Someone said I have to have 2 so they don't die of loneliness. I have heard that they can get a disease from chickens if they are penned together. What do you guys and gals think?
I have a question for all of you experienced chicken ranglers.I place an order to have a coop built but wanted to go ahead and get chicks. At what age will they need the coop? Also, is it a problem to have chicks of different ages in the same brooder box?![]()
I'm sorry if these sound like stupid questions, I am someone that likes to dot all the I's and cross all the T's before I start something and sometimes that leads to stupid questions.![]()
Sinkorswim, love your coop. I saved all the images as I am planning a new coop. Would love to close things up when the rain gets really bad. I still have drenched chickens even with a tarp.
