chicknadventure, looking forward to seeing that article!

Thanks, I keep my dogs (irish and gordon setters), and I grow lychees, and I have a day job. I'm kinda worried that the chickens will try to roost in the trees because there are so many of them.
I get feed from OK Feed Store or Robbies Feed on Krome Ave, they are the closest. My neighbors all seem to have chickens or turkeys so I am just joining the crowd. WPB is nice too and not so far to drive if you need to reach other parts of the world.

Hi Lesley, I'm waving to you from western West Palm Beach! I grew up in Miami Springs, so I know where the Redlands are, it's very nice there. Where do you go for your chicken feed? What else do you keep?

from Lake Wales. Humidity or lack of. It's dropped like a rock here. Dry as dust. I've been fighting stick tight fleas and what I need is a ton of rain.

ok so what are stick tight fleas? My poor dogs have been tortured since moving here and nothing helps! I got comfortis for one of them because she had to go to the vets for an absess on her face but we gave that pill to my daughters dog (who is really allergic) the other 3? arrrgh weekly baths and sprays but those little boogers just stick in there!!!!! and I can't even flea comb them out...my poor little shihtzu cross baby girl was covered (and I mean covered) in dern fleas

Oh, I've been using swat for horses it's an ointment with pyrethrins. You can use it on open sores on horses and none of my chickens have had a reaction to it, unlike advantage or frontline II which can cause feather loss in some chickens. They even stick after they are dead and have to fall off by them selves. Some of them let go of the host before they die and you should see some change in a couple of hrs.

Just got home from visiting family in Pensacola and my 1 broody hen hatched her 3 eggs several days ago and the other still sitting, but letting egg get cold while off the nest. How old do babies have to be to go free range with Mama and to be intergrated into flock? Also, should I remove the egg (bought same day as other hens eggs) from 2nd hen and if so how do I stop her from being broody?
