Hi I'm from Florida and just got our first flock of mixed pullets. Starting out with 11 chickies, raising them along with two kids two cats and a bearded dragon. In the country on an acre and a quarter. I'm what you call an accidental farmer. I married a man who loves animals and comes from a couple generations of farm people.

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! Congratulations on your new pullets :celebrate I'm sure you and your family will thoroughly enjoy this new adventure you are on. It's so much fun raising them and a great hobby for all the family. I love the accidental farmer comment!

Wishing you all the very best of luck with them in the future. Be sure to ask any questions that you may have, everyone here to help and very friendly.

Enjoy BYC and all the chicken chat :frow

Hope you are starting to enjoy the role you have to play, rather than just "putting up," because that is what hubby wants. Both sides need to be happy. Welcome to Backyard Chickens.

Welcome to BYC!

I've always liked animals my family never had any I had a guinea pig in 4H and a dog after I left home I'm hoping to get a goat or two some ducks at some point and rabbits. Being a former 4Her I've been around country farms just happened I was the city girl in the mix. I tease my husband about his "pets" because he owned half our zoo when I married him but I'm 100% partner on this adventure :)

Oh yes, you have to have a couple of goats and if you have 2 rabbits pretty soon you'll have a lot of rabbits! We have those in addition to our chickens and they are all fun.
