Flourless cookies??

I'm planning to host a gluten-free holiday cookie exchange party.

Baking gluten-free is only safe if the kitchen is gluten free. I think he'd be REALLY, REALLY happy if you get onto amazon.com or any online gluten-free site and send him some packages of our favorites:
1) Kinnitoos, just like oreos but waaay better
2)Jan's coconut macaroons in almond flavor
3)Trader Joe's gluten free gingersnaps

Good luck!

I have celiac disease and this is my absolute favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe!! It's so good that my non-celiac family makes these instead of Nestle Toll house cookies! It's probably easier to print it off of recipezaar, so I'll give you the recipe number, 121714. (if you would like me to write it out though just let me know!)

Also the Betty Crocker mixes that someone else mentioned are awesome! We had the chocolate cake for my daughter's birthday, and I thought I was eating the real thing. (It was actually kind of scary for a second.)

DH is wary of Betty Crocker cereal and mixes as the law allows for ">220ppm gluten by ELISA assay" and if the facility also processes flour, there is cross contamination. It would be nearly impossible to bake a gluten free gift with flour on your countertop, baking sheet, spatulas, etc. Most celiacs smile at such a gift but dont touch it as it is painful to accidentally get exposed.

Easier and safer to send pre-packaged "gluten-free" items from stores; just order online. Our local major grocery chain (Jewell and Meijer) have many on the shelves, maybe yours does, too? Put a great ribbon decoration on it to satisfy your urge to make something.

This site may help, if you want to check it out, our family enjoys cakes for all our birthdays from here.
