Flubenvet for de-worming

I have a question about routine de-worming products. How often should I de-worm my chickens? I de-worm my horses 4 times a year. What medication should I use and should I rotate products like I do with the horses? I searched for Flubenvet but cannot find it in the USA. Is there something else I could use instead?

The two wormers that I have seen most recommended for US residents are Valbazen (albendazole) which gets all chicken worms, and SafeGuard or fenbendazole which gets most except tapeworm (unless higher doses for several days are used.) I think they are pretty comparable to flubenvet (flubendazole.) One BYCer has been recommending something called Worm out Gel which is a combo of oxfendazole and praziquantel. Some say to worm twice a year in areas where it gets pretty warm and humid, and once a year in colder, dryer climates. Others worm more often, and some people don't ever worm. I have read to rotate wormers, and to stay with a wormer until it no longer works, then change. Valbazen and Safeguard are two of the best dewormers, as Eggcessive said. Another dewormer that kills most worms is the Worminator (http://www.twincitypoultrysupplies.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=584) I use it, and haven't had any trouble with worms.

Should I discard the eggs for a few days after administering the de-wormer?

Egg withdrawal for safeguard and valbazen are usually 14 days after the last dose, so a total of 24 days since either wormer should be given, then repeated in 10 days..
