I am in Day 16, using a Janoel12 incubator. Today the temp started spiking to 38.5+ (101.3). I have lifted the lid to lower the temp and have started checking every hour to limit the time the temp is high. I understand that chicks generate heat as the mature but in 2 days I will not be able to open the incubator. Any suggestions?

I seem to have found a solution to the incubator high heat alarming by bringing the incubator into a cooler room in the house. I live in Arizona and don't cool the entire house so the room it was originally in was getting hot. The incubator was overheating and it was not the temperature controls. Now that the incubator is in a cooler room the temp has stayed stable. Today is day 18 so I have started the lockdown till hatching.

I have good luck keeping my Incubators in a stable temperature room as well.
I hope your hatch went well!

I’m in az too and one of my incubators seems to be spiking temps only at night. I ordered a temperature regulator (mines home made) so I hope I haven’t lost any in this one. I have 20 specialty eggs in this incubator but it’s the beginning so we shall see. Hopefully all will go ok

Update: on day 21 there were 4 that pipped, zipped and hatched. There was another that pipped but stopped. I notice the membrane was white and thick. I had to help this one hatch and after reviving it with droppers full of electrolytes I have 5 chicks. Today is day 23 and I have 2 eggs left. I water candles them and there is movement so I will wait and watch.
