Fly issues and muscovies... and a few questions :)

Ever try those little fan things that you clip onto you? I forget who makes them, maybe Off!. I've used them once by a lake and it was awesome. Have yet to remember to buy another one.

I tried it when my kids were babies but will give it a shot. At this point I need to be able to go outside.

I know exactly what you mean. I just came in from mowing the lawn and planting some plants and im all chewed up. I have big welts all over.

I have given up the plants do anything for bugs. I have marigolds, basil, citronella, mint, lavender, thyme and rosemary. Some how we still have fly/mosquito problems. I will rub myself down with it and still get eaten alive. DEET is my best friend. Not my first choice but better than west Nile. Oh and I don't just have one of all those plants I have several and all by the doors.

Look into lemon eucalyptus. A study I read indicated it is as effective as DEET and much less harmful.

Let me know how they work out if you do get them! I just got my order of fly predators today so I'm hoping for some fly relief soon! I will still be getting ducks sometime soon so they can help me maintain the flies next year I'm going to wage fly war from the beginning now that I know how bad they get!
