fly predator and DE

I am thinking about getting fly predators because the flies are getting ridiculous around here. Not really in the coop - but near it. ANNOYING ME! But, I uses DE in the coop and run and am wondering if I get the predators - will they just die since they will be near the DE. Also, will the chickens just eat them while they are out free ranging? Any other options for fly control? I really don't want to get the stinky death traps that I have been reading about since the coop and run are right next to our house and deck. Yuck. Any ideas would be awesome!

It's one of the FEW things it actually does

I doubt your chickens will eat many of them since they are extremely small
