Newbie here, soliciting some advice. I have a dirt run that is about 50 sq ft. and I have 3 chickens in it. I live in the southwest and we don't get much rain so it stays dry most days (the run is not covered). Recently I have had a lot of flies around the run (the coop smells fine with pine shavings and cleaning the dropping board every few days), I live in the city so I don't want it to get too bad and upset the neighbors. I clean the run every few days and put down DE every week or so. I try to rake up the poop and shovel it out when I clean it but it just doesn't seem to matter. I am looking for advice as I will be traveling soon and wont be able to clean it for a while. How often should I be putting down DE, how much? Any other suggestions to keep flies away, or at least minimize them? Thanks in advance!

The only advice i can give you is set up fly traps, get some sticky ones, I think they work the best.
