flying after clipping????

Mine is seven, but they stay inside electric netting that's, I think, maybe not quite 3'. I can step over it very carefully and not get a shock, so probably around 30" as my inseam is 32". The netting doesn't shock them through their feathers, so that's not what's keeping them in. They're all different, though.

The lighter-bodied specialized layer breeds are, I hear, a lot flightier, but all mine are pretty large breeds. Yeah, I'd get some taller fence wire. That's probably not gonna work for you. If you can't get fencing you can probably access plastic poultry netting for a stopgap until the manufacturers get back online (hopefully).

Did you clip low enough? I had an escape artist. It was my first time clipping wings. I did it daintily, about halfwayy down the primary. She escaped again so I clipped shorter, right down to just past the secondaries. She has not escaped since.

I reluctantly clipped my hens and two immediately flew right out of the enclosure. What can I do? Two years ago every chicken I had disappeared (while roosting inside at night) without a trace -- no mess, no feather, nothing. Trying to keep them safe.
Show us the enclosure.
You don't have a secure coop for at night?
