My 1 1/2 week old keets are already flying! They are jumping 3 ft out of their brooder! (I keep it covered, but when I'm not in the room I take off the screen cuz its annoying

) It's fun to watch them fly around!

When do keets normally start flying?

They learn to fly quickly, don't they? Since they hardly seem to weigh anything at all it's pretty easy for them to get up off the ground. Better start making your outside plans or you may find yourself coaxing a keet off the top of the highest point inside your house!

Have fun, just wait till you get them outside and they all come flying at you only to veer off at the last second. Our current keets are flying a lot and a couple of days ago they flew past the corner of our covered porch...all except for one who apparently splatted right into the porch siding. I only heard the thud. No harm done to guinea or porch but it sure made me laugh.

Yep mine had flight feathers that looked like they had little folded up umbrellas stuck under their armpits. Every time they turned those things would knock somthin over. I have eleven at about 10 weeks and thirty more at 4 weeks in a completely exit proof brooder.... LOL. They are brooding in moms garage No way can I deal with an escaped Keet in there.... Not to worry though they are headed for Guinea heaven up in the desert where my house is. Huge coop and run and eventually eighteen acres next to BLM land to terrorize....LOL.
