Has anyone tried carrying on a crochet hook when they flew? I'm a nervous flyers and would love to crochet during the flight, to relax. Maybe a plastic hook? Or bamboo?

Thanks-
Em

I think plastic crochet hooks are okay. I believe I took one with me last time I flew.

Here's the TSA info on knitting needles. I'm assuming the same applies to crochet hooks.

Transporting Knitting Needles & Needlepoint
Traveling with Special Items

Knitting needles are permitted in your carry-on baggage or checked baggage.

Items needed to pursue a Needlepoint project are permitted in your carry-on baggage or checked baggage with the exception of circular thread cutters or any cutter with a blade contained inside which cannot go through the checkpoint and must go in your checked baggage.

By the way, it's okay to pack a cattle prod in your checked baggage, but NOT in your carry on. Just so's you know . . .
