OMG!!! These chicks are wacko!

I scrambled my (almost 3 week old) chicks their very first egg a bit ago.

At first, they just stared at it...backing away...inching a little closer...looking at one another like "if that lady puts one more thing in here we don't know anything about we're poopin' on her next time she picks us up"

Five minutes later I have a riot on my hands! One little brave baby picked a tiny piece of egg up and took off with it...the others chased her around like she stole their gold! Now I have 10 chicks running around with bits of egg and it's total chaos in their brooder. Eggs are flying everywhere!
Some of the chicks even sound like they're growling! lol

After a few minutes I looked back over to check on them....bowl is empty except for a little poo that one so generously left as a tip.

I sure do love these little poopers....thay really make my day.....

My broody hen refused to let the chicks eat the eggs that I scrambled for them, wouldn't even eat them herself.

The first time I offered egg yolk, I hand fed it. My partridge rock daintily tried it first and then the wyandotte brat stuck her head in. She quickly burrowed her way through the pile, each peck had more gusto than the last. Then she found my hand and tried to keep going. Ouch!

Try mealworms! The frenzy is unbelievable. After their first mealworms that's all they expect now. Whatever you put in is immediately attacked. When they realize it's not a mealworm they stop and look at you as if to say, "What the h*** is this? You holding out on us or something?"

I love trying them on different foods. It's like watching a game of chicken football.
