Flying things... head flicking

Help! My pulletts have been out in the new run for almost 2 weeks now. Every evening the bugs get so bad, the poor things just sit around, flicking their heads and scratching their faces. Mosquitoes, big gnats, little gnats.... I put vanilla scented human bug spray on them and see no results. I mixed up and sprayed Permethrin around the run perimeter the other night after they went in the coop. I've sprayed my yard with Cutter yard spray (not near the run) hoping that would help. I've read just about everything on the forums but I'm not having any luck. Does anyone have advice for me?

If it is mosquitoes - look for standing water. I would be leary of using any chemical on the chickens or near the chickens. Mine eat bugs, so I don't worry about it.

Set up a fan, flyers don't care for the air movement.
