You were able to get all the maggots off?

Has the wound closed up, I don't see a wound.

Redness of the skin can be irritation from poop. You can apply some NuStock cream to the skin to help with irritation and to help it heal.

Here's more information and tips on treating Fly Strike.

Yes, I got all the maggots off last year, but this year there were know maggots thank god. It just looks so sore, I feel bad for her. I'm hearing now that bluekote burns so I'm not putting that on her. Like I said, I've been using vetericyn for about four days now and it still looks sore and red to me. I've read just about all the suggestions and it pretty much just says to use what I'm using. She's laying, running around drinking and eating, but I still feel so bad.

I also don't see a wound. Like said before, it may just be irritated from poop being stuck there. Any ointment, that will soothe the skin and aid healing would be what I would use. Nu stock, vaseline, udder balm, etc.

Same with that. They moisten and sooth the skin, they won't make the poop stick worse. If it's getting stuck in feathers and making things worse, you can trim back those feathers with some scissors to help it stay cleaner (looks like maybe you have done that some). They'll grow back when she molts. If she's having a lot of runny droppings that are causing it to happen all the time, maybe need to look into that. Could be diet, internal parasites, age. How old is she? Sometimes older hens will start getting issues with dirty butts, and it could be that they are a bit stretched from years of laying and don't push droppings out as well, or could be a reproductive problem making it harder for them (that is less likely since you say she is laying). As well as the other things mentioned.
