Today we discovered our chicken has maggots just below her vent.........sort of between her legs. After we calmed down, we found some instructions......... we gave her a 15 min saline bath, all the we could see where gone. There doesn't seem to be a open wound......just maybe some top skin is missing and of course, feathers. We had gone to the local farmers supply and gotten Vetericyn Plus and Prozap Screw Worm Aerosol. We used the Vetericyn on the area infected. My question is can we use both of these items or is one better than the other? Not sure if we alternated them daily if that would work. Please advise.

Vetericyn is very good.
Eggs may still be attached to the area and will hatch in 24 hours. A follow up soak will be a good idea to make sure any maggots that hatch are removed.

Yes, we plan to keep doing the daily bath till we are sure there are no more maggots.............Yuck!
