Hello Everyone! we have 150 buff orpington chicks that are about 6 weeks old now. I began feeding fodder as a supplement to their regular bagged feed when they were about 10 days old. I mix grit & mealworms in it & they absolutely LOVE it!

I have been hand cutting each of the mats down to 1/2in pieces for them which has been very time consuming & my hands are starting to hurt :)

I was curious, those who feed fodder, at what age can they begin picking the grass pieces off for themselves?

We will be putting them out on pasture soon in their portable chicken houses but until then, I'm hoping to get some relief.

Our birds look beautiful with the fodder addition, they are big, healthy girls (and boys) with beautiful feathers.

Thanks for any help!
