This thread is a great example why I don't travel far from my own thread. This belongs in the meat section where slaughter and processing are expected, not in the duck section where most of us keep them as pets.

There are some places near here that do it in a commercial Wway, but I have not eating the subject to know about taste.

This might be a stupid question, but would a finishing diet of mostly corn produce similar results?

Usually the foie gras ducks are force fed corn, but ethical foie gras is made by butchering the ducks or goose as it prepairs to migrate. They fatten up. Before the trip.

Its easy to say its not ethical, but what exactly is unethical about the force feeding? I mean people get force fed in the hoslital all the time right?

People have the ability to understand that it's for their own good and have the option to consent or not.

My baby didn't, but i like where your going with that. And He hated getting the tube placed, they even call it gavage in the hospital too.

We fatten many types of animals before slaughter, and fat on a human liver is bad. Birds normally store fat in their liver.
