Food crazy duck??!!

I was having fun cutting up veggies every night and feeding them bread oatmeal tuna and stuff but that poultry feed has complete diet needs for layers and when they get sick it's so hard to pinpoint the problem
Nights I give them a snack I make sure to do a late breakfast the next morning so they are hungrier but that's just me trying different things to fit in snacks lol

Hello..Ducks are not Chickens so the layer pellets are not balanced enough in nutrition..Try and locate a water fowl feed. I feed my Birds Duck finisher, old style scratch grain and oat and barley crumble. I provide oyster shell in a separate dish. Every couple of days I feed Romain Lettuce, tomatoes, peas and cooked spaghetti squash once a week or so?..
Best wishes...

It is going to be sooo hard. I already feel like the worst person ever. I want her healthy though.

You're doing worse for her by upping the extras... It's like giving a kid a bunch of cookies... They turn into ravenous little brats because they are missing nutrients (speaking from recent experience with a school party).

Differently, if I don't get enough protein, I'll eat everything I can find trying to get more protein.

She's sucking the kitchen dry because cause she's missing nutrients.

Cut out everything? But she’s already so hungry? Is there nothing else I can give her?

You said she isn't eating much of the feed, but gobbling down the extras, right? She's a kid eating her dessert first and not eating enough of her proper meal... tough love, it will be better for her...

Just leave out free choice feed for her during the day... she may not eat much or any for a day or so, but that's the spoiled kid refusing to eat dinner because the ice cream was taken away...

They won't starve themselves, eventually she will eat it and eat properly... then you can restart the treats after she is used to just eating her feed, but just a little and not every day...

So just an update. We went almost 2 weeks of giving her only her feed. She is doing really good. She is actually eating it now. We just started introducing back treats here and there. Usually only during bath time in the water.
