food in or out of coop?

I keep feed and water in both raised coops.
My coops are well ventilated and rodent proof when I close the pop door after sunset. 20190927_050527_resized.jpg .
No auto pop door on my coops. GC

I have a horizontal nipple waterer and a porthole feeder inside the raised coop, so, theoretically, no spillage of either item. I provide their chick waterer outside in the run, especially on hot days. But I figure if they're hungry during the day and don't get enough from foraging in the grass and what I provide in the run, they can go up into the coop through the pop door and use the feeder at will.

I'm definitely not getting up at 6 am to put food out for them.

Hi! I'm NEW to the chicken world... have three hens ready to move outside. I bought the ratproof treadle feeder that I plan on attaching to the exterior of the coop (that's inside the run). The waterer I plan on buying is the 5 lb. Little Giant, that I'm also planning on keeping outside inside the run. I wasn't planning on putting food and water inside the coop, but wanted to confirm this. (I've read they don't need these things at night?) I'm wondering what time they should go in their coop at night and when they need to be let out in the morning... I'm not a 5/6:00 am riser, so am a little worried about this one. Would love any feedback you have! Do I need to at least have a wall mounted waterer inside the coop for the morning? I've seen one by Little Giant that could work.
my 5 ladies went in there coop at 8 weeks last July. I kept them 3 days and 2 nights in the coop, ( I was told by a friend they will know this is their new home) so I had there food and water in the coop with them.
I still keep it in there with them since I am not an early riser. You can see in the second pictures I utilize cross nipples so water spillage is none existing. I will be changing there feeder to no mess again. However, I just bought an automatic door (waiting for its arrival) and plan on leaving the food and water in the coop for now. However, quarters may get tight since I am adding 7 more chicks this season.
