Food: Love, So-So, & Blah!

Thought this might be kinda fun! Here are my lists of foods my chickens love, are so-so on, & turn their beaks up on. Keep in mind we're on a shoestring budget so our girls get lots of scraps & such. Interested to see others lists!

LOVE!
1: Any creepy, crawly critter!
2: Hot dogs! Battle Royale if I throw them a hot dog or some vienna sausage!
3: Anything round & juicy like tomatoes & grapes!
4: Any baked or flour based desert! Really go nuts over chocolate covered yeast donuts!
5: Bread- not picky!
6: Canned vegetables minus the the veggies! They love the salty juice!
7: Dog food. Interesting that they want it dry & won't hardly touch moistened!

So-So...
1: Popcorn. Will only eat salted & prefer it buttered. Picky little girls!
2: Canned vegetables. Will only eat them after the juice is gone!
3: Anything with potatoes. Also must have salt! Includes potato salad.
4: Vegetable peelings. They look disappointed if that's all I give them!
5: Anything green & leafy uncooked. If that's all there is & they're hungry...

Blah!
1: Canned Beets! They told me if I try to give them one more can of beets they will go on strike & lock me out of their pen!
2: Potato peelings! Hate them so bad they throw them back at me!

LOVE (They lo-lo-love these foods!)
-Canned Vegetables
-Canned Fruit
-Bugs
-Juicy fruits and veggies (tomatoes, peaches, apples, bananas, kiwis, berries, etc.)
-Pumpkins and Squash
-Bread
-Rice
-Dairy Products (cheese, milk, buttermilk, yogurt, etc.)
-Meat

SO-SO (They will eat them, but they aren't very enthusiastic.)
-Leafy Vegetables
-Radishes
-Vegetable Peelings
-Dried Oatmeal
-Mixed Nuts (Peanuts, Walnuts, Pecans, etc.)

BLAH (They loathe me when I feed them this, haha!)
-Nothing!

That's right, my chickens don't refuse anything! They've never been particularly picky about their food, so I've been pretty lucky with whatever I feed them.

Pumpkin? when our kids carved their pumpkins this year I took all of the scraps out to our girls. They picked through everything & ONLY ate the seeds. Guess I'll have to take them a pumpkin pie with Cool whip!
