I followed plans from online and people say these work great. But the food seems to be hanging up in the elbow ... how do I fix it?

It’s 4” PVC upright, a 4”x3” elbow, 3” horizontal feed tube.

Looks great! Are you sure the outlet pipe is horizontal? If so, maybe try a 1° decline from the elbow. The weight of the feed up the vertical pipe should be enough to move feed through the horizontal provided the horizontal is 0° or on a slight decline.

Shoulda stayed with a 4" elbow and and a 4" horizontal. The 4" to 3" is a constriction. Even staying with 4" the whole way, your horizontal piece is way too long. Feed's never gonna make past about the third hole in that.

Yea - I was worried about the size decrease, but hoped it would be OK since it's such large diameter pipe. Oh, well. So I'll cut out that reducing fitting and stick with 4" the whole way. And I knew that the feeder tube was too long, but was thinking that The Ladies might scatter it down the tube with their feeding activity. Anyway, it'll be shorter once I cut out the bad-idea fitting and remake it with 4". I'll use the 3" for a second feeder to put in my small coop with the bantam chicks who are just coming along. Thanks for the advice.
