Wasteproof Feeder Requirements

Yeah, shipping from the U.S. to the UK does cost that much plus you guys have to pay the customs charges in person, no pre pay.

But, how is that feeder going to stop rats? I'd keep the traps and bait going.

There is one halfway decent treadle feeder available in the UK. Inward swinging door, but it has a honking huge step which isn't good and I am certain the door isn't spring loaded. But, sometimes even a poor treadle feeder will stop a couple of rats. Do a Google search, you will find it. If I remember right it has a handle right on top of the lid.
It wont stop rats if they are going to feed during the day, although I've never seen any in the daytime. But there wont be any spillage and it will be indoors at night.

Have you tried one of those bucket traps with the rolling bait suspended over the center of the bucket? Rats are quick at figuring things out and I am not sure of a five gallon bucket is tall enough to prevent them from jumping out but maybe if there was a foot of water in the bucket. I'd use dish soap around the edge too to prevent them from clawing their way up and out.

I'm thinking of doing that to be honest. I have a large plastic dustbin I could use which I could easily fill with a foot of water. I baited the snap trap again last night with peanut butter, which was all gone this morning, so I'll set the trap tonight. I've heard the Squirrelinator is good for catching rats. I can get this for £100 less than i can get the Ratinator.
