Food prices

Wheat and corn are way up also, many farmers are selling their cattle because they cannot afford the feed, bull calves dropped about $100 in a week.

I thought people would start dumping their feeders.
I didn't think it would be this quick.

People have been selling their cattle here and it has nothing to do with the price of grain. We have had very little rain. No rain. No grass. No hay. No Pasture. No feed. As of a couple weeks ago the cattle prices were still high. Haven't checked lately.

So food prices..
I am going to start using coupons again.. hubby hates it because it can take up some time clipping and all and you cant just run to any store..
But its WELL worth it for us.. we STILL have 2 freezers full of food.. but its the dry goods that i have depleated because we've been short on money so i havent been stocking up..
I'm determined to start this again next week.. Having a stock up of food has saved us sooo much money and even helped my family members in need..
I'm doing it again..

My only real problem with coupons is that they are market driven and you end up with a cart full of calorie laden junk food. It's not like they are offering coupons on fresh produce.

Pretty much the same here, but it is having something to do with grain and corn, especially with veal, that is why week old calves have dropped, all the other prices are going strong. My dad went to a dairy sale on friday and a guy from the very southern part of Ont. had brought 25 jersey heifers, the dealers were not their and boy did they miss out, I told Dad he should have bought them all. he bought two and got them for around 500.00 cheaper.

I know..that is a problem. I hear ya..

That's true. New data from the U.S. Department of Agriculture indicates that domestic food prices are likely to remain high in the coming months and could go higher. However, there are lots of ways to keep those grocery costs down without having to sacrifice nutrition for your home. Article resource: keep food costs down
