Are there any foods chickens shouldn't eat?

I've heard they like watermelon but our only like the seeds. They seem disinterested in much else besides greens and weeds and their bag of feed.

Mine eat everything thati give them,I dead headed some roses earlier and sure enough they were gobbled up very quickly!

I love buttermilk to drink and cook with so occasionally I give my ladies buttermilk soaked bread--not too much bread though. Or sometimes I will put a little olive oil on pieces of bread for them--don't know where I got that but they are ruthless little beggars!

Chickens will eat just about anything, except fava beans. I grew some last winter because they are cold hardy. ( live in Az) I let the chickens out into the fava patch. those buggers would not touch them. I guess they have a built instinct into want's good for them and what isn't.

I had part of a loaf of homemade bread to give them today. It was still good, only being a day old. Darn chickens ate it, but fussed the whole time. DH's aunt was here, and said "WHAT? You want butter and jam on it next time?" Sad thing, she's probably right. Spoiled rotten chickalucks.

Oh, and I throw all the scraps out in the morning from the night before. So if I have cucumber peelings, squash pieces, etc. from making the meals, or whatever happens to be left on plates when I clean the table, the chickens get it the next morning. RARELY is anything left after they're done. They replaced my piggy.
