Help! Something got in my coop tonight and ran off with one of my ISA Browns. I gathered up all of remaining chicks and brought them inside. My one is bleeding between it's toes on the webbing. They have fresh pine bedding, but what do I do? How do I clean it up? Any need to bandage? They are all scared but perking up some (except my remaining ISA is looking for it's buddy).

So I went to clean it's foot. It's foot isn't hurt. It's entire wing is ripped off. My chicken is a goner isn't it? :'(

Kohe- that is a great link! I looked last night but couldn't find anything. I did put some Neosporin on it last night and wrapped it. I didn't seclude him bc the other chicks have taken to mothering him. Put the heat lamp on made sure water was near by. He was up and fighting me as I cleaned him last night (I take that as a good sign). And he's still with me this morning!! (Another good sign!)
I have a friend coming over later today (hopefully) to give me a hand cleaning and wrapping. The only thing I hesitate to use to peroxide. It delays wound healing. I do have access to sterile saline which I feel is a better choice.

I am also looking at a smaller hardware cloth to prevent this in the future.

Heres my one winged wonder all bandaged up! He's up walking, clucking, eating, drinking, and pecking me when cleaning up his wound! He even "flew" a short distance this evening.
As long as we can keep infection away I think he will be ok!

I agree!! Looks like you've done a good job. I hope he continues to get better, but if he's made it this far and acting normal I'd say its great signs.
