Foot Problem

Can you get a photo of him standing so we can see the front of his legs too?
Current photo of what the toe looks like since you took the nail out.

Agree with treatment and care outlined in Post# 9
That is what the toe looks like since I took the nail out. It pulled out easily like it was rotted. I just took those photos on the 4th

Please post pictures after you complete the directions from me, on page #9. Wyrop Rock and myself need to review the newly requested pictures after the feet are soaked and clean with the nails trimmed. Plus, Wyrop Rock requested pictures of the front of his legs too. Please include legs/toes.

Here is both feet and legs

How do you post videos? I have tried and it won’t let me.
For video, upload to YouTube or similar platform and provide us a link. The upload thing on BYC doesn't work.

Is he still having difficulty walking? I don't see anything really that screams infection. His left foot is slightly puffy but it doesn't seem too bad.

He’s laying around more than walking. He’s getting up and limps to the feed but other than that he won’t walk.

He hasn’t mounted the hens either and can’t roost because of the swelling. Would vitamins or something be good to give him.

I have a RIR Rooster that has been limping. The only problem I could see upon inspection is he had a ingrown nail. I took the nail out and soaked his foot in peroxide then wrapped it up. I did this for about 3 days before putting him back in the run. Now he’s limping worse when he’s up but mostly stays lying down. I haven’t had this problem before. What do I need to do to get the big guy back up and healed? Please help.View attachment 2554794View attachment 2554795View attachment 2554796

My phone or internet must be lagging. I tried and YouTube keeps kicking off.

Have you tried soaking his feet daily in a warm epsom salts bath to see if that makes a difference.

I'm not sure what's going on with him. Vitamins a couple of times a week probably won't hurt.

The swelling may be something like Gout, but it's hard to know. I would make sure he's eating well. Get a fecal float to see if he has worms, look him over for lice/mites too. While I don't think parasites are his problem, when a bird is not well, their system is not as equipped to handle a parasite load and they can decline rapidly, so staying on top of any issues like that will be helpful to his overall wellbeing.
