foot problems

I've also filled their run with playground sand. The vet said it tends to happen more when they're on hard ground and i'm unable to free-range my birds. He actually suggested going really old school and keeping them on a raised 1/4 inch mesh floor to eliminate the problem entirely in the future, but that is not in our budget at this time. I guess that's how they used to do it back in the day before they had chicken safe wormers and things.

I think I have the same problem. My 2 year old Austrilorp Jazz has just recently gotten what looks like small marbles in the web area between her toes on one foot. She is often standing on the other leg. Half of the yard is cold standing water for the last month from all of the rain and she stands in it a lot. I have a heat lamp and fresh dry shavings in the coop and run. There are 18 other hens and they seem to be okay. Help.
