Skye passed away this afternoon.
It was soooo cold in the coop. I brought her crate into the house. She looked awful.
I held her in my lap and warmed her up. Her mouth seemed dry with all that heavy breathing, and I realized I could squirt little amounts of liquid nutrition and water into there. She seemed to drink it up.
She even seemed to perk up. I felt a glimmer of hope. But then within a few minutes, she started looking like she couldn't breath. Then she started flapping her wings like crazy and collapsed in my arms. Goodbye sweet little bird.
