Foot wound

Help! My male ducks foot is black by his nails and is having trouble walking, this is my first year with ducks. What do i do to help?

It certainly looks like bumblefoot but I cannot say I’ve ever seen it on top. I had excellent luck packing it with drawing salve ( I got it from my vet) and keeping them quiet, it is a much longer process than operating but it worked for me. Get y yourself some duck shoes and a dog pen. I found keeping them from being able to get wet and dirty yields the best results that’s going to be a tough spot to pack.
 
I'd start soaking in warm Epsom salt water and after using the drawing salve wrap. Keep soaking and using the drawing salve. You can buy drawing salve at TSC. If you have a vet that will give you a prescription by all means use them. It will take a while but the other option is to soak everyday till the scab softens enough you can gently remove the scab and get out the infection.
