Footage of Weasel easily passing through Chickenwire.

I'm thinking that might be the larger sized chicken wire. Former owners installed it on a pipe gate in my backyard. I think the holes may be as large as 2". In addition to the normal 1", they also make a 1/2" size. But it is still lightweight chicken wire.

My preference is 1/2" x 1" 16 gauge welded wire, sold as cage wire in some places. More expensive than hardware cloth, but nothing short of a bear will get through that.

What that video does reveal is the strength, tenacity and quickness of a weasel / stoat. They are vicious little buggers.
They are. They can demolish a whole flock within minutes, with no apparent sounds or signs.
Generally speaking chicken wire isn't predator proof, so most people stay away from it.

I use chicken wire, even poultry netting. Never shut the pop doors, usually free range anyway. Have a free range dog so I don't have to worry about predators besides hawks.
