Footprints in the snow

Think they r too small to be raccoon, thinking squirrel sized. Think the post with the 2 pics was the same animal?

Not the same animal, different shaped paws. Could be a young raccoon. Been trapping too long to confuse it with a squirrel.

First is coyote or dog, next looks like squirrel, the final looks like raccoon. A cat or an owl would leave a dead mouse.

Owls usually swallow something as small as a mouse whole, though, and cast (regurgitate) the fur and bones out after digestion.

Small owls can leave it if disturbed. Only reason I suggested it since there could be something that scared off the owl.

We have raccoons and small owls. Haven’t had coons but it’s been almost a year, they r due back! Lol This pic shows my boot size (women’s 9) for reference.

Always put something for scale in track pics...a quarter works well.
Mouse was probably dropped by a bird of prey.

That’s a young raccoon. Probably just left the nest. No doubt by those tracks.

If you have a game camera put it up and you may find out what it is. I live in Florida so no snow prints.
Last nights visitor. I have been seeing a female but this one is a male.
