For all those on my Welsummer eggs waiting list...

Ok, here are a few photos of some recently gathered eggs. I put a white egg in the carton to help with color difference. They are not the cleanest. It goes from frozen ground to mud from one day to the next and the girls are not wiping their feet before entering their nest boxes...shame on them!

BEAUTIFUL! I can see the sheen on them! Can't WAIT to have some in my nest box! First, the incubation....the waiting, watching temps/humidity....then, the hatch....will they all hatch out okay? Then, the gender wait.....THEN the forever-long wait for the pullets to lay....the ENTIRE process is so exciting I could SCREAM! Can't WAIT!!!!!

MotherGoose,
Your eggs are just gorgeous! I just love the dark brown Welsummer eggs.

We are having the same problems here w/ freeze & thaw to gooy mud. It was beautiful on Sun with temps in the upper 60's, but plunged into the 30's and now it's snowing again.

Smitty,

I know, is'nt this weather terrible. I was lovin' it Sunday and now it is freezing. They are calling for 3-5 inches for us this afternoon.
Thanks for the compliment on the eggs too!

Where is spring?

I'm on the list. Of course with the demand she has, we may have a new president by then

I'll wait a few days to go stand by the mailbox.

Just thought I would update everyone. First fertility check was 50%, I imagine the freezing temps may have plaid a factor there. I will try candleing the second test batch tomorrow night. If they are good, we will be a go for starting to ship this week.

I have already contacted several on the list and a few have changed their minds and a few need later ship dates, so everyone has moved up on the list!!!

If all goes well LoneCowboy, you will be up for eggs next week!
