For all those on my Welsummer eggs waiting list...

I know what you mean, LC! I've been communicating with MG since last fall about getting some of her pullets or hatching eggs, and finally decided to go with eggs....now, I can HARDLY stand the wait!

Lay, Welsummer hens, LAY! Good hatching vibes comin' your way from Michigan!

I know it seems like it's taking forever...I may be feeling more pressure than the hens!!!!

I should be able to give you all a heads up on the fertility soon. I will try to candle them on the 3rd. They will only be 7 days in, sometimes I just can't see through them dark eggs, but I am gonna try. That way if they are good, I can start in on working on that list!!!

Still staying steady at 6 eggs a day, keep them laying vibes coming!

Sometimes if you can not see anything thru those dark eggs, opening them would be a good thing to check. I know you will have to sacrifice a doz or two to find out. If you got a good ratio, you will be good to go sending out those beautiful eggs!

Robin,
Oh no, I can't waste these little orbs of gold (well, terra-cotta!) I have chick orders to fill too, that are only gonna get filled from test hatches...so can't waste any!!!!!
I am hopeful that they will be super fertile. I have another 2 dozen going in tomorrow.

Christie so it's not only your hens feeling the pressure to lay it's also the roosters feeling the pressure to do "their thing" too. No wonder they take a Winter vacation LOL
