For all who remember We are the World

Yesterday something reminded me of the song We are the World done to raise funds for African relief. At the time it was a very inspiring song and neat that so many very different artists got together and worked in the same studio, but I have to admit it seemed a bit of a weird show watching some of them too, right there in direct contrast to the others.

Anyway got the song in my head and the only cure when that happens for me is to listen to it, and YouTube was there to help me out of course. Well if like me you were a bit amused to watch the video then, you have to see it again now. I just about laughed myself silly.

Hard to believe that was 23 years ago!

Interesting too how those were the top artists of the day and some of them are still around, some are so long gone I had to look the song up in Wikipedia to figure out who they were.

I still like the song though, and what it accomplished.

I just read something about this today at Ember's.
They have little "remember the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's" papers at each table. I read them ALL and remembered everything from the 90's, 80's, and 70's. Heck I even knew some of the 60's and 50's stuff--and I wasn't even born then.
They actually had some pretty interesting stuff on there.

Oh just watch the video a few times, it works for me, gets it right back out of my head.

Or gather up someone too young to have been there then, have them watch it with you and then try explaining it to them, that will cure you!
