For experienced hatchers with incubators...

50% is considered a very good rate on shipped chicken eggs. There are many other variables that greatly affect shipped hatching eggs. It is a 100% gamble.

50% is a Good hatch on shipped eggs and part of them will be roosters. The shorter the distance they travel can help. Shipped eggs is risky because not only do they need to be good eggs, they need to survive the USPS and then the incubating needs to be near perfect. It's a wonder that any hatch but, it is So Cool when they do!!! Good Luck!

I have gotten shipped eggs 14 time some from ebay. The other poster is correct try to find someone not too many states away possibly helps. My personal hatch rate on shipped is about 3to 5 chicks from 14 or so eggs.I have had 3i didnt get any but 2 of those i didnt have a good bator

It is a low hatch rate and yes a 100% gamble is true but i have gotten some wonderful colors and breeds i couldnt find anyplace near me.The do end up being pretty expensive chickens though
Ine tip. When they arrive uput them in an egg carton big end up and let sit minimum of 12 hours..before setting in bator.I have been then putting them in the bator and not turning for 7 days to let the air cells settle well.Heard you get a better hatch.I have some due tomorrow .I will see how well the sit for 7 adays works as some say.5 were viable on day 17 but they had been in the mail5 days.

I have had no chicks or one out of 40+ eggs the average for well packed eggs in a good bator seems to be about 3 chicks aout of a dozen eggs for me.
