For licensed Veterinarians: Questions and Advice?

Okay, so, hi.

Basic rundown: I'm Ty, and I'm 28. Pronouns are they/them. I'm married, have kids, and due to said kids, I have a flock of chickens.

I was wondering, what's the best recommendations for if you want to become a Poultry/Farm veterinarian? Like, what books do you suggest to read? What areas in college do you suggest focusing on? What's the best thing to know to be prepared for? Those sorts of things.

Truthfully, part of the reason I'm interested in this is because I plan to become a farm veterinarian with a focus on poultry. Not only do I want to help my birds, I want to help others with their birds and there's not that many that can do that where I live in Michigan. So... yeah.

I'm looking at MSU, to be honest. If I need to go to community college first, I'm looking at SC4.

I... don't think the college algebra I took in high school will count? Or the Psychology class.

Because if SC4 has any courses that can help me get accepted for MSU's veterinarian courses, I'm hoping to take them? My attempts to research haven't been very helpful, unfortunately, beyond giving me hope that getting an Associate of Science might help with the veterinary schooling.
