Well, we are talking about 10 second sound bites here. Maybe off-camera they expanded on their reasons for voting. Of course they are proud that an African-American won the Presidency! Why wouldn't they be?

I'm not saying they shouldn't be proud, I'm saying that they should be prouder of what he stands for, not just his color.

As I said, perhaps they weren't offered the opportunity to expand on their reasons for voting for a person of color. Lots of editing goes on behind the scenes.

Oh for heaven's sake, what's the big deal. If McCain won, there'd be a buncha Democrats running around talking about being all uneasy and that McCain guy should never have been elected if people voted intelligently.

Stop and think.

We have all been alive for more than one election cycle, most of us for a bunch of them. Remember them? In every election, especially the hotly contested ones, and especially the ones that occur against a backdrop of stressful economic and/or political circumstances, there is always this predictable buzz, from people whose favored candidate lost, about how the other guy only got voted in because of people voting selfishly or stupidly or whatever, and the world is going to heck in a handbasket. No matter WHO wins and loses, the tune's the same every time.

Frankly, anybody with half a brain is feeling somewhat uneasy about what's going on right now with the economy (domestic and global) and repercussions thereof. And obviously you think that your own favored candidate would do (or would have done) a better job running the country.

PERSPECTIVE, guys, perspective...

Well, they were justified . . . believe me, there's no gloating in that. Everyone wants a good leader, everyone wants their fears to turn out to be false and irrational. It was a terribly sad eight years, and I'd give anything to have had them go differently. Fear does have the potential to be justified, so you can't always wave it away and say things will be fine, because it doesn't always work like that. I'm more hopeful this time around, and while my hopes could still be dashed, it is nice to be temporarily relieved of that niggling fear in the back of my head. That fear would be there if the other party had won, though . . . so I was just saying, besides the different viewpoints, I do understand where people are coming from and can sympathize with the feeling.

It was a live shot, the ones I saw, and that was the first thing they mentioned was his color not his political ideals. I'm done with this thread, my BP is too high already.

BUT maybe Obama can cure that too, right after he finishes feeding all the hungry and giving everyone wealth.

At the headquarters yesterday...I read this to some people. I thought it kind of fit.

"You and I have a rendezvous with destiny. We will preserve for our children this, the last best hope of man on earth, or we will sentence them to take the first step into a thousand years of darkness. If we fail, at lease let our children, and our children's children say of us we justified our brief moment here. We did all that could be done." -- Ronald Reagan.

Well you have two choices, complain about the election, or hide and pray for whatever change you think needs to happen. The vote
was made and the president elect was chosen. Sitting around saying how miserable you are with the decision, how bad its going to get, how the end is coming, how you wont be able to handle it isn't going to change anything.

And if you dont want my comments, nor anyone elses, then dont start the thread.

I am personally EXSTATIC with the turnout! GO BLUE!!!!!!!!!!
