For those who use a dog kennel for a coop, I'd love to see pictures...

I love the playhouse! I actually suggested the same thing to the DH for ours and he poo-pooed me because "I do this stuff for a living and can do way better".

Meanwhile, I still have no coop and a playhouse we got a garage sale for $7 sitting unused because it is too hot for the DH to sit outside while the kids play.

Thank you, TaLani! I am going to be working on building tunnels this weekend, and wasn't sure weather to use wood or wood and hardware cloth. Mine may have to be a bit longer, and I'm not sure if using all wood will be too scary and dark for the birds.
Guess it depends on how long they have to be. I really like your set up, though. What kind of attachment did you use for your pvc roof (what is the joint called?)

Our dog run (that we bought on craigslist) had rolled chainlink that we needed to attach to poles (versus the panels). We just left the 4th side unattached on the side that we built the coop - this way, the dog kennel is not destroyed and can be resold later, if needed. The extra chainlink is rolled up just to the right of the wooden coop.

This picture was taken when the chickens were still babies. Our coop/run looks a little different now - the roost is higher and we have added nestboxes. Also, we unrolled the chainlink another 6 ft and connected another dog run to the 1st. (to enlarge their run).

Thank you SO much TaLani!!! It was the hardware that you used to attach the PVC to the kennel that I wanted to see........now I know what I need to do this. Thank you for taking the time to take and post the pics, I really, really appreciate it! Now I can finally do the top the way I have wanted to!

Thanks for all the great pics! Keep them coming, I've gotten some great ideas from all of your pics. I do have few more questions...
I plan on putting hardward cloth 3 on the sides since I have a lot of coons. What should I do on the gate. There's a good 1" gap on each side of the gate. Should I some put hardware cloth in the gap? I also need an idea to inclose the top of the run. The coons in my neighborhood are large so I need something heavy duty. The girls will be able to run into their coop for safety but I want to make sure the coon won't cave the wire in on them.

Thanks again for all the pics!
