Hi,

I want to switch to the DLM for my chicken coop. I have been told that it works best with a coop that has a dirt floor.

My coop sits 4 ft off the ground. It is still possible to use the deep litter method in this kind of coop?

If so what ingredients do I need to add to it to help it decompose?

Is there a specific recipe or method that I need to follow?

My fear is that in doing this I will end up with nothing more than just a bunch of deep dirty litter in my coop.

Here is a Pic of my coop if helpful.

Thanks Again everyone. I appreciate the help and advice

Yes it will work. We do it.

Ingredients are shavings and chickens.

Add more shavings as needed.

The chickens will take care of the rest of the additives.

You might want to mix things up occasionally.
