Forage cakes?

Has anyone used these or make their own??? One of the hatchery catalogs has them. They contain DE. I thought I might get these for my gang during the winter--while they are free ranging.

I have only seen them online and they are quite expensive. I'd love to make my own but don't have a clue how?
