Every morning when I let the chickens out, Lil' Bit tumbles out the door with all the others. Then, she heads back in to the nest box and sits for hours, whether she has an egg to lay that day or not.
She's "played at" going broody before, but now she just seems to enjoy going to the nest box every day. In the afternoons she comes out and free-ranges with everyone else.
Anyone else have a hen that goes to the nest box, whether they need to lay or not?
