I've had chickens forever, but have only recently discovered the amazing variety of breeds and groups devoted to said breed. The last week or so, I've sat in my chicken run for morning coffee.. asking my flock to identify themselves. They haven't been much help. Apparently, they haven't read any breed directories either! So in an effort to help me learn, and to solve their recently inflected identity crisis... if you have any ideas what any of these might be, please let me know.

I know this little hen is a banny, but that is about it!

This hen is sweet as can be, but no ideas as to what she is:

I know these chicks are likely too young to tell, but if anyone has any suggestions on what a few MIGHT be..

Especially the chick in the back, right, who is partridge colored. He was hatched the same day from the hatchery, but he's LEAGUES bigger than the other chickens, and very very inquisitive.

Thanks for any help!

Pic #2 is a Light Brown Leghorn.

Can't help you with the rest. Hen #1 is beautiful... mottled something.

The first hen is a silver spangles hamburg. Not sur about the second hen. One the chicks, the black ones look like my black jersey giants but the australorps are also colored that.

She IS a Silver Spangled Hamburg! Thank you! I googled it, and found what appears to be all of her extended family on Google Images. For whatever reason, I feel much better knowing.

And a Brown Leghorn. Cool. Thanks for ya'lls help.

I have another one.. this little (Well, not so little) lady..

I have guesses but I'm still learning.

She is very camera shy. Not the obvious silkies, but the black and white speckled hen somewhat in the background..

the first one silver spangle hamburg

second one brown leghorn

chicks in box~ mmm back left corner wht crested ones...
if clean leg maybe wht polish?
if feather leg maybe Sultans?

right corner ~ crested chick ~ golden laced polish
those blk chicks in box ~ not sure they appear feather legged? maybe red fella is cochin?

Cannot see her comb really well (speckled one in third pic) but it could be a Cuckoo Maran, Barred Rock or Dominique. they are the most prominent barred breeds. Look them up and see if you find her leg and comb type in those breeds.

In the chick pics...top left little reddish brown one looks like m partridge rock as a baby the block one top tight of picture looks like my Black australorps as babies...bottom right red one looks my new Hampshire red as a chick...could be a rhode island red but the color does not look right for a rhode island.

thosw puffball heads are probably polish and that fat little thing in lower left if it has feathered feet is a cochin. LOL

they are just a box full of cute is what they are.

The first one may not be a bantam, how do you know? I only ask because I have three silver spangled hamburgs, but they're just smaller than other hens. I have a brown leghorn, too; and I think she's the most gorgeous thing in my flock.

It looks like you got the same mix I did.
