Forgot to buy starter- chicks are hatching, WHAT DO I DO!?

I forgot to buy starter today, and the chicks are hatching. what shall i feed them until i make it to the store tomorrow?

My understanding is that chicks can go 72-hours without feed or water...that is how it is possible to ship day old chicks.

water may be more important that feed...and mashed hard-boiled eggs can be an emergency feed for your chicks.

My chicks never eat much the first 24 hours, so I think you are fine till tomorrow. Just put out some water.

Don't worry about it. You'll probably be keeping them in the incubator overnight anyway to dry out and get their legs under them. They probably won't be seriously interested in food for another day or 2.
