I don't know if it's too early to tell what breed of chick my male is. He is 3 days old. If it is too early to tell please let me know as to when would be a good time to post new pictures of him. Thank you for all your help in advance

Could be ewe Could be ram/
Could be mutton, could be lamb.

It's a white (or possibly buff) chick with orange legs and a single comb. Really hard to tell anything right now.

Do any of these breeds jog your memory?
Rhode Island White
Buff Orpington
Leghorn
White Plymouth Rock
Sexlink cockerel
White Orpington?

Did the hatchery email you a reciept?

Love your little poem. it gave me a great giggle. As to a receipt, I was so excited to be receiving my first chicks ever, so I went into a MS brain fog and left it at the feed store. And as for the breeds you mentioned. I don't believe it's any of those. I do remember the guy telling me he would have a docile personality and he's not one that is aggressive when "trying to get a piece" as he put it.

Have to admit, it's not my poem; it's Dick King Smith's (children's author) from the book "Babe, the Gallant Pig."

Out of all the chicks I ordered he was the only breed name at the stores list I didn't recognize. So the 15 gals I ordered I recognized right away.

So call the feed store and ask for the guy. Then ask him. Jog his memory with the details about how it should be a "chill" rooster, etc...

Or have them read you the breed list and then say to yourself, "hey, that's the only breed name at the stores list I don't recognize" ;)
