I am from fort wayne and moved to Wyoming Mi, and thinking about relocating back to fort wayne where the family is. I currently have 5 chickens and they are in my backyard now illegally ( just look up 'chickens' and 'wyoming, Michigan' LOL)

I am also wondering about the laws of fort wayne. I do love Indiana and fort wayne...but you are correct, RIDGED people there! We get enough hippies though, we can change the rules

I am moving back to Fort Wayne and wanted to know if I could have chickens so I checked http://www.allencounty.us/dps/ where I entered my address and clicked Get Zoning Status to find my zoning status (RS-1 means you can have chickens). Yes, it appeared I could. To be sure, I called them at 260.449.7607 and the very nice and helpful people confirmed that my address is, in fact, allowed to have chickens. I recommend you do the same.

I would be all for changing the laws on owning chickens in Fort Wayne! I want a couple of hens, but not sure about the laws right now.

Thanks for that link! I typed in my address and it says I am in a R3 zone. But I don't see where I can look up what animals I might be able to keep in my yard (rabbits, hens?)
Where did you look to see that you zone allowed hens?
